Coaching & Mentoring
Coaching is a very positive tool to use in developing individuals. In essence, it unlocks people’s potential to maximize their own performance by helping them to learn rather than teaching them.
It is important to draw a distinction between coaching and mentoring. Whilst both are powerful in unlocking potential, coaching draws out from the individual their goals and the right actions for them, whereas a mentor uses her/ his own experiences and knowledge to help the individual understand situations and together craft a way forward. Importantly, both coaching and mentoring are action-oriented and concerned with the present and future, not the past.
Coaching requires expertise in coaching not in the subject matter at hand. Therefore, we are able to coach leaders and aspiring leaders from a broad range of businesses – scale of business or sector are no barrier to success. For mentoring, our skills are most applicable to those in growing businesses, particularly those venturing cross-border, and in more complex organisations where navigating stakeholder dynamics are key. Irene has a particular passion for helping women at all levels to achieve their goals in business and in life.
It is important to have the right chemistry between the coach/ mentor and coachee/ mentee. Therefore, we offer a free ‘chemistry’ meeting at the outset to ensure that the working relationship will be productive and positive for both parties.
