About
Irene Grant is an experienced businesswoman, having been a senior leader in a FTSE-100 PLC. Irene’s career was in financial services, primarily Commercial and Retail Banking. She has worked in Scotland, England, Hong Kong and USA and led teams based in 15 other countries.
Throughout her career, Irene has passionately believed that coaching and mentoring are vital ways of unlocking potential in people. Her own banking career and personal development have benefited by working with wonderful coaches and mentors. In turn, Irene has found great satisfaction in developing others through both coaching and mentoring as part of her working life.
With the opportunity to devote more time to this passion, Irene studied Executive Coaching & Mentoring with the Edinburgh Coaching Association, and achieved a Level 7 qualification in Executive Coaching & Mentoring with the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Irene now coaches individuals and teams across a spread of organisations in the private, public and third sectors. Clients include advertising, automotive, energy services, financial services, pharmaceuticals, and professional services. Irene also contributes to businesses through Consultancy work and Non-Executive Director roles. Irene is on the Board of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, a Committee Member of the Chartered Banker Institute 2025 Foundation, and a volunteer Mentor with the 2025 Foundation.
Irene graduated in French and Business Studies from Edinburgh University, is a Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute and a member of the Association for Coaching, The Institute of Directors, and the Institute of Leadership and Management. She and her husband live in Edinburgh and have a daughter and son who are now young adults. The family are all avid sports fans, particularly rugby and football, and enjoy outdoor activities and travelling.
